BTS is pretty much everywhere right now. It’s virtually impossible to go through anything music without stumbling upon this iconic boy group. 2018 was definitely their year, but there is no doubt that 2019 is going to be even more explosive for them with the pace that they’re going at.
Recently, they were involved in a minor car accident after Sasaeng fans allegedly kept following their cars after one of their Taiwan concerts. Witnesses to the accident reported seeing four or five taxis specifically used to follow celebrities around bump into the cars that the members were in. BTS and their crew used 7 different vehicles to be transported back to the hotel, and witnesses said that at least 3 of them were impacted in the collision. There have not been confirmation or any further details to who have been involved in the accident, or which members were affected, but reps have confirmed that there are no casualties or injuries.
BTS also teamed up with SBS to reveal the official lineup for the network’s ‘Gayo Daejeon’, the annual televised music festival broadcasted at the end of each year. They have confirmed that Red Velvet, Blackpink, TWICE, BTOB, GFRIEND, NCT, Momoland, WINNER, Seventeen, MONSTA X, Sunmi, Apink, MAMAMOO, GOT7, iKON, Wanna One, and EXO will be accompanying them that evening, where they will air live from Gocheok Sky Dome on December 25.
To top all that off, the legacy of BTS is just beginning. They have just hit a new milestone with their very first Grammy recognition at the upcoming 61st Annual Grammy Awards, the biggest award show ever known in the music industry. Their Love Yourself: Tear album has earned a nomination for Best Recording Package. This is definitely a breakthrough moment for the entire Korean music scene.
It’s definitely been a whirlwind end of the year for the boy group, but if their talent is a testament to how rapid and great their achievements are, they will be dominating the music scene even more next year.
