Two weeks into October, and there is no slowing down in the realm of music videos. This week, we’ve got Drake singing in Spanish, Ariana Grande trolling fans, Quavo being Quavo, Selena and Cardi B in all their fiery glory, Dylan Sprouse breaking Camila Cabello’s heart, and more.
Drake has been at it everywhere, and this time the debut of his long-awaited feature on Bad Bunny’s “Mia”, an up-tempo collaboration featuring a little bit of a reggaeton vibe, just released. It’s not Drake’s first time sing-rapping in Spanish (“Odio” in 2014), but it’s definitely refreshing to see him at it again.
Ariana Grande’s surprise troll video for “breathin”, one of her chart-topping hits from the latest ‘sweetener’ album, consists of her baby pig walking around for the entire 3:19 duration, and it wasn’t until she revealed several hours later that everybody realized it wasn’t the official video.
Ariana reveals that the ‘breathin’ video is still coming, and she posted the video of her pet as a “joke”: “thought this would make u laugh while u wait for the real one bc i took a break to take care of myself for a little while.” pic.twitter.com/49FRvn9sNR— Current Pop (@currentpop) October 11, 2018
Camila Cabello has been kicking some serious butt in the industry ever since she went solo. She kicked off Wednesday (October 10) by dropping a video for her tender song, “Consequences”, and it stars Dylan Sprouse––the twin brother of the Riverdale heartthrob.
So much hype was involved in the making of this video, because everybody was so curious about what kind of fiery combustion would come out of the combined presence of Selena Gomez and Cardi B in one video. DJ Snake, Ozuna, Cardi B, and Selena Gomez collaborated in a reggaeton banger titled “Taki Taki”, and the female pop powerhouses lit the screen up.
Migos rapper Quavo is kicking off Huncho Season with a new album and his ‘BUBBLE GUM’ video. In what people are claiming looks a lot like “outtakes from Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One”, the video features futuristic vibes and hype streetwear, and of course, models.
Which is your favourite music video banger of the week?
