Fans Call For Investigation As Korean Music Streaming Platforms Show Faulty Data

It all started when a slightly older song by artist Nilo caught everybody off guard by hitting No. 1 on the music charts, even beating TWICE, EXO CBX, Wanna One, and all the other popular groups out.
Nilo’s company has stated that they’ve used Facebook boosting and other methods to encourage people to listen to the song, but some people are discovering that even if they haven’t listened to the song, their records show that they have. Despite the platform reform from days earlier, another song managed to do the same thing from an artist called SHAUN.
People are also suspecting BLACKPINK for putting in money to buy streaming, as their data results are better IU and other popular hits, regardless of the popularity not being strong in Korea.
Fair competition and evaluation is the cornerstone for any industry. Recently there are suspicions regarding music chart fabrication and it's hurting all parties related to it. We heard there're already requests made to the Ministry of culture, sports and tourism by another company. We are currently discussing this matter with other companies and planning to request investigations to the Ministry of culture, sports and tourism and the KFTC. Depending on the result we are planning to take this to the prosecutors' office. Hope these suspicions get cleared so we can all go back to our real job.
JYP has taken to Instagram to issue their statement, saying that they side by the fans to request for investigation to the Ministry of culture. People are alleging that JYP is referring to Nilo, Shaun and some other group, and he has sparked a debate in his comments section. According to recent reports, JYP, SM, and Big Hit Entertainment will be joining forces to set up a new music streaming platform.
