We all know how to sing it, we all know how it sounds. And especially when it hits this time of the year, you can’t go anywhere without hearing this song. Ever since it’s release in 1995, Mariah Carey’s Christmas hit “All I Want For Christmas Is You” easily became a Christmas classic. And even 24 years later, the track was played 10.8 million times Monday on Spotify.
This indicates a new record set for one-day streaming on the platform, which was previously held by rapper-singer XXXTentacion with “SAD!”, which logged 10.4 million streams a day after his death in June.
Mariah Carey took to Instagram and said that the feat is “such an amazing Christmas gift”, as the song continues to climb Billboard charts as popularity resurfaces. The song reached a new peak this year with No. 6 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
The current Hot 100 chart features 20 holiday songs, including Andy Williams’ “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” at No. 10, Brenda Lee’s “Rockin Around The Christmas Tree” at No. 11, Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas to You)” at No. 17, and more.
