One of the Few Times Cardi B Apologizes for Controversial Comments
Let’s face it. Cardi B says controversial things on a regular basis - it’s practically part of her ‘charm’. But this time she might have blown it. Cardi B appeared in a controversial comedy sketched called ‘The Real Housewives of the Civil Rights Movement’, where she played Martin Luther King Jr’s widow Coretta Scott King. This skit is a preview of comedian Rip Michaels’ upcoming series ‘Off the Rip’.

Yesterday (Tuesday, 28 August) was the 55th anniversary of Dr King’s “I Have A Dream” speech. In the skit, Cardi B stars in a scene where the spouses of Malcolm X, Jesse Jackson, and Martin Luther King Jr sit around. Dr. King is even referred to as a “ho” in the skit.

Dr. King’s son Martin Luther King III told TMZ that he thought the skit was “beyond offensive”. And that “young people look up to these artists”. Dr. King’s daughter Bernice King called it “repulsive”.

Bernice King then took to Twitter to thank Cardi B for reaching out to her and apologizing.
Cardi B has been under fire for several controversial comments, including calling dark-skinned black women “roaches”, which she defended on Twitter by saying it’s “just a Bronx thing”. She’s also had feuds with several fellow artists, including Azealia Banks, and of course, Nicki Minaj.

Currently, she’s focused on raising her daughter Kulture and touring with fellow rappers Migos.
