“The show must go on.” That statement rang true for the iconic California rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers when their concert in Australia was hit by a power cut during their opening track, ‘Can’t Stop’.
This was the group’s first Tasmania show of their career in the band’s 36-year history, taking the stage for an instrumental intro. But the song came to a halt when the power cut out on them. According to reports, Flea entertained the crowd by doing handstands during the 15-minute glitch.
The band went on to perform a 21-song setlist, including all their classic hits like ‘Dani California’, ‘Under The Bridge’, and ‘One Hot Minute’.
The band has been spinning their wheels for quite some time now, and it’s been a decade since John Frusciante left for a second time. Their last LP, One Hot Minute, was not up to par with their usual hits. After all the members, both original and non-original, went through spouts of rehabilitation, the Red Hot Chili Peppers were reborn.
