Sir Paul McCartney Returns to Abbey Road Studios to Play New Songs for Fans

Sir Paul McCartney amped up the hype for the September 7 release of his upcoming new album Egypt Station by playing what was billed as a “secret show” at Abbey Road Studios and premiering four new songs from the album.

The Abbey Road Studios is where The Beatles did much of their recording, and a McCartney spokesman confirmed that McCartney recorded for Spotify for broadcast at a later date. Songs from the upcoming album include “Come On to Me”, “Fuh You”, and “I Don’t Know”.

McCartney walked to the studio and then delighted fans by walking across the same zebra crossing on Abbey Road he and his Beatles made did on August 8, 1969, for their famous album cover. He recently announced new tour dates in Canada, the UK, Poland, and Austria, and will be one of the headliners for the 17th annual Austin City Limits Festival in Texas.
