The Weeknd Teases New Music Feat. Gesaffelstein

It looks like The Weeknd is among the many artists that are gearing up for a wild 2019. It’s a brand new chapter for The Weeknd following the release of “My Dear Melancholy” early 2018, where he also featured French producer Gesaffelstein on two tracks.

He introduced us to a world of melancholy, a chapter in life that featured a post-breakup mood. Though it seems that this upcoming album will see an opposite vibe. “Prior to Melancholy, I had a whole album written, done,” The Weeknd, aka Abel, told Time in May. “Which wasn’t melancholy at all because it was a different time in my life… It was very upbeat––it was beautiful.”

The Weeknd took to Instagram to release a teaser of his new song with mysterious French producer Gesaffelstein, a 12-second clip with barely much to go on. But we see them sitting back-to-back on a couple of armchairs in a dark room.

Both artists are planning to release new music this coming year. While The Weeknd has teased a new body of work, “chapter VI” he’s been known to call it, Gesaffelstein is gearing up to drop his new album Hyperion.
